Wow, I went from thinking this was silly to getting sucked in ... brilliant writing and characters

Yeah, to me, so many movies and series go off the rails in some way it is almost depressing to start something new and just have to wait for it to deal-destruct. One series I have really praised for brilliance is "Bad Sisters". Have you seen that? It is serious, yet hilariously funny, but also tragic. It really brilliant writing and acting as well. Sharon Horgan previously in Catastrophe was excellent, as were all the other actors. A few excellent shows. Another kind of cute show that I watched recently was Trying.

I've seen Scott in so many movies and kind of taken him for granted, but he has a great ability to choose and get some really great roles that are always ( at least the ones I've seen ) complex stories that are more than action, or animation, or super-hero, sci-fi, or vampire movies.

I saw Severance, and it just seems like from what I read it was something that sounded so ridiculous. It has gotten amazing reviews so maybe someday I will check it out, but for now I'll stick with movies with stories around real people. Thanks.
