Too many cutaways, I rewatched the scene twice and finally realized what it was that Bonnie saw, but I am sure I didn't understand everything that was going on.

shareBonnie saw him coming out of the police station. Which means his entire relationship with Jane is not real.
And then in the next episode preview they didn't show him, but there was voiceover from him saying the police thought that one of them ('the Monterey five") would crack.
Oh i didn't catch that, everything just happened so quick. But yeah i kinda suspected he had an ulterior motive for seeing Jane, just wasn't sure if he was aligned with Mary Louise or the police.
shareGuy at the bar was the theater director Madeline was schtupping. His wife was hitting on Ed, so that conversation about swinging was not off the mark.
