I am only a couple episodes in the show and I already can't stand the character of Martha. I find her constant uptight and cherry attitude irritating and I can't stand her voice, delivery and tone. Why does she speak like that? It sounds like she expresses every word. Why doesn't she just speak normally?

I just want to get a pin and pop the fat out of her. I really dislike her fat face, and I think she is by far the most annoying character on the show. Who agrees?

She grows on you. I suppose she's in there for the laughs.

Personally, I hated Nick throughout the entire series with his one whole facial expression he does throughout the entire series.

Terrible actor.

But yes, Martha is annoying...but gets a bit better as time goes on.

I don't mind Nick. I thought the 'little snowflake who needs his mom' story was too much. And since I am binge watching, I find it hilarious how fast it goes from 'Nick hates it here and is in trouble all the time' to 'Nick loves it here and is doing well in school!' over the course of 1 episode that takes place over the course of a few days.

Martha is great. She's becoming a favorite of my and my mom's. However, (back to binging), I find it hilarious how Martha used to be on a committee trying to ban the development of a bridge because she didn't want big developers in Middleton and now every other episode Martha is trying to get a giant chain store or a big box store settled in the town. I guess politics really does change a person, haha.

Can't stand her either, I know she is supposed to be the town busybody and they are usually very fake types but I get the sense we are supposed to like her anyway.

You may notice as the show goes on she gets fatter and her feet look like pig trotters as she likes to squeeze them into shoes that are not suited to her.

She is overweight really. I mean, she looks very unhealthy. I'm not saying that as an athletic woman because I know many larger gals who look great at a heavier weight, but she just looks sickly.

She definitely grows on you. I didn't care for her in the movies as she was supposed to be the antagonist but she settled down and can be down right hysterical at some points.

Yes, she has grown on me, and Disher is a terrific comedic actress when the writing is good.
