NEXT WEEK IS SEASON FINAL EPISODE

Yep next week is the season final they only made 8 episode for season 1 so not sure if there will be a season 2 or not nobody has said nothing about it

Anyway on my Directv guide here is the Title and info for the episode I will put it in spoilers just in case you don't have DT or want to read about the info

True Colors is the name of the episode Cassie receives devastating news regarding the future of Bell, Book and Candle; the whole town comes together.

Next week final is also 2 hours instead of one .

According to the IMDB page there are a total of 9 episodes and number 6 just aired last weekend. They show the finale as airing on April 25, with the same episode title and synopsis you listed. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3906732/episodes?season=1

As to whether or not it will be renewed, it may be awhile before we hear one way or another. I sure hoping it will be.

reply

As noted, IMDB has nine episodes listed.

A bit of comparison: "When Calls the Heart" had 12 episodes in its first season.

Finding the show a bit flat of late. Grace really hasn't been given much to do. The arc with the visitor & her grandfather was good. The opening was decent too. There was some good character dynamics, but not enough of late. I think there is potential there, but needs to get better.

reply

Imdb can be notoriously incorrect. Early on there was mention in the press release of 10 episodes, but I believe they meant 10 hours, as the first and last episode of the season are 2 hour episodes.

With the ratings they've been getting, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a longer second season, but it may also come down to actors schedules, etc.

reply

I know that IMDB sometimes has a problem with accuracy, but in this case the info seems to fit, that is if we are to believe the early press release that said there would be 10 episodes (or 10 hours.) As you said, the 10 hours seems more likely. Also consider that when a 1 hour series has a 2 hour episode, its sometimes listed as 2 episodes. That would make the math work out.

Edit
Hmmm. tv.com and tvguide.com both say 8 episodes. Hallmark only shows the past episodes and the next one, so we'll have to wait til after the next episode airs to see if they show the finale as coming soon.

We shall see. I found a reference to "17" episodes!

There only 8 episode but I guess this week we will know for sure

reply

Next week will be the season finale and its going to be a 2 hour episode.

reply

It's one of Hallmark's highest rated shows. Seriously doubt they'll cancel it just because you don't enjoy it.

reply

Its funny that the predictions of cancellation started before the first episode aired. The first was that it wouldn't make it to the second episode. After the second was broadcast, it wouldn't make it past 5 episodes. Now that its going to make it to the end of the first season, there are predictions it won't get a second season.

Haters gotta hate.

I will say this the movies are so much better though I feel without her husband the show is really lacking the magic and fun that made it so much fun to enjoy .I really don't like the doctor or his annoying son or her deceased husband best friend that is always trying to get her to be with him .

There no real magic anymore for this show we have characters that are very one sided and are very annoying to watch .

I HOPE it gets a second season - yeah it does need some better writing and story lines but I will never give up b/c I just love Catherine Bell as Cassie.

I wish that the first season was all a bad dream that Cassie was having and that Jake is actually alive. I know WISHFULL thinking, I understand the actor is on anther show and the scheduling just didn't workout. I just miss Jake b/c Cassie and him had off the charts chemistry. I also just loved the movies so much. Anyway, I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will get a second season and that the writers become more creative. I want Grace to be showing signs of her "magic" w/her mother; that would be great. Just please give it a second season.

I saw the first movie; I believe I saw the second one as well, but I'm not positive. I am enjoying this show a lot (and as I am a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, I am of above average intelligence). I actually LIKE James Denton and have liked him ever since Desperate Housewives. And, after all, until Orphan Black comes back, there is absolutely nothing else on Saturday night!

I recently rented the first movie to see what all of the naysayers were talking about, and I enjoyed it. I had to verify the date of the movie (2008), because it almost seemed like it took place in 1998 with the way it looked and the way people acted. I did enjoy it, Cassie was so much goofier and I was surprised at how nasty Martha was. The boyfriend/husband was good, but I prefer James Denton. I will probably rent the rest of them before the second season.

However, I agree with jabell that I really like the series. Dr. Radford and Cassie have a lot of chemistry and Cassie being single opens up a lot of new possibilities. I really enjoyed this season (didn't think I would--tuned in for James Denton originally).
I also have a Master of Arts in Russian and also am of above average intelligence.

Why can't people enjoy both? Also, the original husband didn't want to do the series so the point is not worth debating, unless they replaced him with a look-a=like.

Some people get attached to certain characters especially when dealing a small town/cozy show like this. If you kill off a key character, it can really throw them, and the little fantasy universe set up. It's understandable.

I'm happy you are enjoying the show & I too liked the early movies. Then, the material got to be a bit thin, since the opening newness was gone. I enjoyed the beginning of this show & some of the characters are okay. Personally, I don't think the last few episodes had very good scripts. The storm episodes are to me pretty boring. And, they don't even have him do emergency surgery!

The first couple episodes also hinted Cassie and Grace have some sort of witchy qualities. Since then, Grace has shown very little of that & has not been given much to do. The teens overall are tiresome at this point. They also need to give the adults more to do. Don't expect too much, but they need to do it a bit better. The subplot with the mystery guest and her grandfather was a good one.
