I want to like this show,

I love Catherine Bell and James Denton and I think that Bailee is a beautiful talented young actress, but this show seems even more saccharine than the movies. Grace is the perfect child, never acts out, always helpful, gracious, etc. The son is moody, but basically a decent kid. Brandon and his wife have this everthing gets resolved by the end of the show and seem a little dull. Cassies beaus are good kind guys that don't try to undermine or play games to win her heart. Martha and Abigail are extremely annoying. I miss Chris Potter and all of Cassies guys seem more like brothers. And like the other poster stated, I see very little magic, just Cassie and Grace being sweet, accepting people who believe in goodness and then it's suddenly true. I'm waiting to watch season 1 to see if I can get a different perspective since I've only seen a few of season 2

Chris Potter got another show. GET OVER IT! I agree about the magic. Cassie does seem to have what the person needs right at hand, or she knows just what to say or where to send someone where they will learn something they need to know. Same with Grace to a lesser extent. And even Abigail, although she's not as sweet about it as Cassie. She did save Samantha from buying a building that was badly in need of renovations she couldn't afford.

Boo Hoo! Let me wipe away the tears with my PLASTIC hand!--Lindsey McDonald (Angel)

This the reality of Hallmark shows. If you haven't watched any others (Cedar Cove, When Calls the Heart) they all tend to be a little tooth-achingly sweet, where everything always works out. Even the "drama" is mild and immediately resolved.

Having less "trash" can be refreshing, but apparently no one can figure out there's a middle ground. When Calls the Heart pulled the love triangle card, like Good Witch is now, twice, but never REALLY followed through on it, so it just came across as stupid and pointless AND we got two really annoying characters out of it. ?

"Good Witch" doesn't really fit the mold of television entertainment in the 21st century. It isn't edgy. It's not dark, gritty, disturbing, or violent. It's not topical, trendy, relevant, or political. People don't play emotional games. The teenage daughter isn't miserable, maladjusted, or tattooed. The main character is a smart, strong, independent woman, yet she is pleasant and gets along well with men. These are many of the reasons I like it.
