what happened to all the witchcraft?

I think the show is a little bit soap opera like now. I re-watched some of season 2 on Amazon and there was too much of Sam and his situation at home plus Sam and Cassie - will they kiss or won't they. Will they go out or won't they? The we have Sam and his ex wife Linda who is just annoying. Keeping Sam and Cassie apart. I don't want the show to devolve into all this nonsense. I can see that anywhere. At one point I really felt like I was watching a corny soap opera on afternoon t.v. When the writers get it right, it's great. Leave out too much magic and references to magic and mystery and boredom sets in. I enjoy the movies much more than the series.

It's not "Bewitched", with nose-twitching and cartoon sound effects. It's more subtle, more for grownups.
