I hate musicals

i have read a few reviews on this, trying to avoid spoilers, and some have described it as a musical, some as a mix of action movie and mtv type music videos

are people singing and dancing in this, or does it just have a lot of music in the background?
I think I can handle the music video/action movie style if thats how it is.

I don't want to see it in the theater if 10 minutes in a flashmob joins together for a sing and dance or any other stupid musical themed crap like people singing through their lines.

I saw rock of ages and wanted to put my fingers in to my ears until they touched while sitting through it in the movies. I cant go through that again

This is not a musical. Music is used to accentuate scenes. There is a lot of discussion of popular songs. The characters do occasionally sing a few bars so the other person knows what song is being mentioned. It is all very normal.

It's a "musical" in the same way that Guardians of the Galaxy or Pulp Fiction were musicals.

No, it's only musical in that the soundtrack is loaded with classic rock tracks and those tracks move the story along. No one actually sings in this movie.
