Alternative Medicine Specialist, seriously Tom

I guess they are going to bring Lillian's shoulder up again next week. But Lillian might as well throw her money in the garbage if she goes along with Tom's suggestion of going to an alternative medicine specialist. Going to one of those people can actually make a person even sicker.

I'm beginning to wonder if bats fly out of Tom's wallet when he opens it...

reply

Bwahahaha!!! that's too funny!!

I don't see any problem with trying a different kind of doctor as long as it isn't a life-threatening illness and time is of the essence...and they don't seem like a voodoo witch doctor trying to steal your money

reply

I wonder if he just means a chiropractor. Or Actupuncturist. But as an enhancement, not as a replacement for traditional medicine.

reply

A chiropractor can often cause more problems.

reply

Not if they know what they're doing.

reply

That is the issue though. Far too many of them don't know what they are doing. Also a shoulder problem is beyond the scope of what a chiropractor is supposed to do.

reply

Shoulder pain is indeed in their scope. Chiropractors are involved in musculoskeletal problems. Last I checked, shoulders were part of that system. They're not only focused on the spine as a lot of people believe. And, if they're trained properly and are ethical, they won't cause problems. It's not like they got their license out of a cracker jack box.

reply

Not for an issue where the recommended treatment is surgery.

Naturopaths and alternative doctors are better than mainstream doctors.

Plenty get worse and die with mainstream doctors all the time; not sure why people pretend they are so effective.

LMAO. You keep going to those snake oil salesmen AKA naturopaths. It frees up appointment times with real doctors who practice evidenced based medicine for the rest of us.

My health and wellness gets better and better the more I turn to Nature's cures.

I have to agree. I am an RN, and I see a functional medicine doctor. Not a true complete holistic doctor, but combines western medicine with natural cures like nutrition and supplements. Because I work with regular MD'S I know the ins and outs of the Healthcare system right now and am not fooled. If you think most docs practice evidence based medicine, you are wrong. A real doc missed my dad's warning signs and he ended up getting open heart surgery and missed every sign that he was diabetic. They are not Gods... I wish more people would realize that. This is the same group of people that prescribed Oxycontin for years for people with chronic back pain.... a lethal narcotic!

They get it wrong a lot, and people are trained like monkeys to just go them and do what they say. It's sad.

reply

You don't sound like a very good RN, because so much of your post is questionable.

1. I never claimed that every doctor is good. But the idea that something is good because it is natural is bs. Cyanide is natural, doesn't mean it cannot kill you. Water is also natural, but it can also kill you if you drink excessive amounts.
2. Your story about your dad is just that, a story. There is no way to prove it here or not.
3. If you actually are a RN, then you know that anything can be lethal depending on the dose. While it is true that Oxycontin is highly addictive and potentially lethal, the problem goes beyond doctors. It also goes to research and pharmaceutical companies. Not enough research is being done for pain management without narcotics. It is slowly changing, but not fast enough.

So called "natural cures" and "natural remedies" can be toxic.

Clearly he's trying to help her. She seems (overly) upset about her shoulder and the surgery, so even though I don't use alternative practitioners, I might ask a person if they are as distraught about it as she appears to be.

Help her into an early grave so he can try to collect on her estate as her loving husband.

There is something fake about Tom. The whole storyline is staged. There was the all the drama about him not telling Lillian about the bus. Then when Lilly learns about the bus, she is cool with it and does not have a dramatic meltdown. But none of it mattered because they decide to live in a house for the 6 weeks. And by they I mean the producers. There is no way that the show was going to film inside the bus for several weeks.

reply

He still looks like he is dedicated to his bus though for the upcoming show. i agree with Lilian I mean when you are single and all a bus is fine but married with a family not the most convenient option.

reply

He should take her to this guy.
