Are any of you getting funkified captions on this and other SyFy shows?

We have a fairly new Samsung Smart TV and when we use CC on SyFy, they are messing up; when the captions change for the next scene, some of the letters from the previous scene are still there... mostly at the beginning and end of the next scene's captions... and sometimes partly superimposed over the "new" captions.

We are on TWC/Spectrum, but it only happens on SyFy.

You have an outdated cable box. I had the same problem. Then I saw the message that my cable box is outdated and should exchange it as soon as possible. The new box works perfectly.
