How does this end? anyone? "Spoilers warning"

Annoyingly enough it's left for you to decide what the hell happened. I find it extremely annoying, why make a movie and not give it a proper ending?

Ya know I'm really torn as to how I feel about how they chose to end this film.. On the one hand, yes, I totally feel the frustrating disappointment that it appears so many others are left feeling...but...and its a confusing "but" to even myself..but, in a way I do very much prefer this frustrating ending to the typical ending of all the films that have pretty much the same storyline(ie. the found-footage-stalking via all of today's technological devices).

Then again, I can very much agree that it is friggin' frustrating as hell when we, as the viewer, are left with such an overly wide spectrum of possibilities as to what actually happened, there, in those last few minutes of the film.. So, as I said, I'm very much torn about how/what I feel about the movie, "Ratter"'s, ending.

Also, maybe I didn't pay enough attention in some parts, or maybe I even missed something important during one of the brief moments I found myself fast-forward-scanning during this movie..whatever the case I still am completely unclear on "WHO" in the hell it even was that broke in her apartment in the final scene(and, yea, I did get a fairly clear look at the perp-stalker's face when he stands in front of her laptop screen, after having duct-taped the $hit out of her)..but, yet still I haven't the faintest clue as to "who" I was actually seeing at that point.

I definitely understand that given what was seen throughout the movie, up to that point, that the perp-stalker was MOST LIKELY none other than her mid-western-hometown, ex-boyfriend, Alex..but, I either missed(or the film didnt show) what the ex-boyfriend, Alex even looked like...

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to reply to my overly obvious question that to most may seem stupid..lol..but, I, seriously, am not certain "who" it was that I was looking at in that final attack scene.

Anyhow, I can say that this lil' found-footage-stalker-flick did entertain me with its quick runtime, and while yea, it did appear to have some "filler" footage to lengthen its runtime..all in all I got some enjoyment out of watching it!

My take is that the stalker duct taped her mouth shut and also her hands and arms so he can take her somewhere and then do who knows what.

The stalker's interest in her was sexual, and it was implied that he'd killed the new boyfriend as well as the cat, so the likely inference is that she was raped and murdered. Any happy ending is just clutching at straws.

As to who it was, I don't think it was any of the characters we'd met, nor the ex-boyfriend. Likely some random weirdo who saw her picture on Facebook. It occurred to me that it might have been the guy sitting behind her in the café near the end, but I don't know. That's just a guess.

The duct tape around the ankles made me think he was going to kidnap her. Why didn't he sedate her first though? Sloppy. In any case, after stalking her for so long I think he'd want to spend as much time with her as possible.
