Amelia (spoiler)

Should we feel sorry for Amelia when she gets gunned down by John Boy or was she just a brat running like a sissy coward?

I see.

I don't think she was a brat, just an idealistic, naïve kid thinking she could "change the world." I think we were *meant* to feel sorry for her - Holland and Healy do - but her character just wasn't likeable. (Don't know if many here have seen The Leftovers, but I kept thinking of Margaret Qualley as Jill in that show, being nasty to her dad.)

A "sissy coward," as she's trying to elude hitmen who are after her because she'd stood up against her mother and those like her, despite their power? Um, no.

I thought she was psychotic.

She was very sexy, though.

exactly.
She's the hero trying to foil the big conspiracy, and having recorded the message in a way it would be able to be heard, doing pretty well at it .

she's the hero!

WORD! If only the likes of the OP could’ve trade places with her and do better, right? XD

Amelia was rebellious and she definitely had other issues, but if her running away from assassins (after standing up to her corrupt mother who Amelia knew wanted her killed) made her a coward, then what a smart and brave coward.

SPOILERS!

No. It's just poor writing.

We never get to know her & thus can't really care. I think it's supposed to be a shock or plot twist when she gets shot, but for that to work we must be invested in the character.

I never felt for any of the characters...maybe Misty. A little. Not for Holly, she's a brat and also somewhat twisted by Dad treating her as a perverted, jaded adult. Not for Amelia, nor the two schlubby main characters.

This thing was a waste of my time. I felt generous giving it 6.0 on IMDB. It didn't affect its 7.4.
