I disagree.
The elevator exit/entrance was one of the few decent scenes in the movie. But it happened so fast and with no explanation I didn't know how to react. It wasn't 'til later I even figured out who was being killed... and am still puzzled as to why.
I don't see the writing as even competent. I didn't get invested in any characters and thus didn't really care - though I wanted to - when various ones died. Plus the place was littered with incidental carnage of innocent bystanders, kids acting in and exposed to porn, unlikable main characters, weak plot. Overall... Feh!
I was hoping - maybe - the film was itself the story's maguffin - a coded message about who's involved in child sex trafficking, but if so, it's too deeply encoded for me.
