To be fair...
Most of the budget went to Detective Pikachu. They had to hire hippy non-gamer CGI programmers to work on Sonic.
The only reason to see this movie is Jim Carrey alone but I don't think he'll be able to salvage it.
It's almost like Paramount only made this to show off how cool the rings going around their logo looks.
