#4 domestic of 2018

As of Saturday. Inc2 will overtake it in a few days.
Will make the top 10 worldwide next week.

I expect Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will zip past it pretty quickly as well. (Already passed it worldwide even without opening domestically.)

Pretty sad numbers all around.

reply

how? they are still making millions.

reply

Because the production cost alone was around 300 million and marketing was at least 100 million. This movie is in the red for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Lastly, this is a Star Wars movie and it's not even going to make 400 million worldwide. That"s the very definition of "sad".

reply

Why is it sad? it has nothing to do with us what money it makes, that Disneys problem, for me , the paying public , i got me an enjoyable star wars movie.

reply

Last I checked , this thread is about box office(i.e. money), and on that count the results are indeed "sad".

I do agree that it's a good film and I enjoyed it.

reply

its not sad, im not sad, are you sad? and i doubt disney is considering in 3 years this franchise has made them over 4.5 billion dollars

reply

It's sad...

Passed on this and went with 2001: A Space Odyssey. A film in its 50th year is better than anything playing today, how about that?
