The inevitable question: What order should you watch the Star Wars movies in?

The correct answer is:

1. Star Wars: A New Hope
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Return of the Jedi

That's it! 😃 *cracks knuckles*

Simple really! 👍

When the Star Wars newbie (I.e. spouse, daughter, son etc.) asks if there are other movies in the saga, you LIE! 😉

reply

They made sequels to Ewoks: The Battle for Endor? It's about time!

reply

TFA and R:1 was alright. But the prequels, TLJ and Solo suck indeed.

reply

I hated TFA a bit more than TLJ, actually. I do think Rogue One was a decent flick, though.

reply

It's a bit irrelevant as anyone who cares about the order of this series has already seen the movies..

reply

Same as OP Russell 👍

reply

I disagree. There's two other good movies that deserve a place in the Star Wars universe besides the original trilogy. I'd suggest:

1. Star Wars: A New Hope
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Spaceballs
5. Family Guy Blue Harvest

RussellNash's answer is 100% correct and a model of moviechat wisdom.

reply

NO, the real correct answer is:

1. The Phantom Menace
2. Attack of the Clones
3. Revenge of the Sith

I prefer to pretend the other "Star Wars" films don't exist.

reply

nothing comes close to the original trilogy

I think the simple answer is: watch them in the order they were made. You can then get an idea of the cultural impact, then the decline with the backstory of the Prequels, and then the recycling and character assassination of Disney Star Wars.
