shareIt didn’t perform as well as expected opening weekend but it wasn’t a disaster either. It’s the biggest opening of any Ron Howard films. It’s a saturated market at the moment. Also lots of people have things to do Memorial Day weekend. I thought it was pretty good not great but better than Rogue One. I know a lot of people like Rogue One but I think it’s a mess of a film. The exception being the awesome Vader slaughter scene even if it messes with ANH’s continuity.
shareToo many SW films. With one coming out every year they are no longer a special event, something to get excited about.

Why would anyone look at this film and then compare it to how well the rest of Ron Howard's films did? No one is going to go see this because it's a Ron Howard film, they're going to go see it because it's a Star Wars film. And as far as Star Wars films go, it's a complete disaster.
shareAgreed, the people here are HYPOCRITES:
First of all, they bash the movies for being SJW, and then worry when they don't do well! It's ONE or the OTHER, assholes!
This post makes zero sense. We don't want less Star Wars movies or for Star Wars to do bad inherently. We want DIFFERENT people in charge, we want a DIFFERENT direction. We don't want identity politics and modern agendas to be in Star Wars movies. We want the focus to be on great characters and a great story.
We want someone who knows what the hell they're doing in charge, someone with creative talent, someone who isn't an evangelizing political extremist and actually cares about Star Wars. We've tried talking - they ignored us, insulted us, and labeled us in a very nasty way. The only way to make this change is to send a message to Disney with the only thing they'll understand: MONEY.
So yeah, obviously we're going to be concerned with the performance of these movies because THAT IS THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT. The only way things are going to change if they realize that many of their fans are sick of this shit, and aren't going to pay anymore until they make a change.
Why is this so hard for you imbeciles to understand? It's literally like you have your fingers in your ears, just like the asshats at Lucasfilm.
We want someone who knows what the hell they're doing in charge, someone with creative talent, someone who isn't an evangelizing political extremist and actually cares about Star Wars.
Now you're bringing Lucas into this? I guess that's what you morons do, ignore and then change the topic to avoid learning anything. Lucas was leaving regardless, as he explained himself - he didn't want to spend the last years of his life on another trilogy. Which is totally irrelevant to the issue here. Keep plugging those ears...
shareYeah, and what happened was it didn't even hit the adjusted low box office predictions it was expected to make so I don't know why people are saying it was not a bomb.
Have a short review of this one on my Youtube movie review channel if you're interested-https://youtu.be/SVdMCNhBstI
Tanked?? Oh come on, it made over $84 million!!! What, that's not good enough for you??
