Did you like Ehrenreich as Solo?

First of all, I never really liked Solo for being arrogant and condescending to Luke Skywalker. So the bar was set low.

But to me he was the jock, the big guy. This actor is short. Not Dustin Hoffman short, but to me Solo is someone who is cocky because he is the big guy and used to getting his way.

Look at Ford in his 20s https://weheartit.com/entry/305837567
So the physicality wasn’t there.

But he was more likeable than Ford, more or a charmer. And shorter guys do need to charm there way around more than a jock who uses that as his crutch. So they seemed to change the character for him.

Now onto the acting. Unfortunately he delivers his low tone dialogue in a near perfect Leonardo DiCaprio impersonation. He doesn’t do Leo’s facials, but he really channels his delivery. It was distracting when this continued to raise its head throughout the movie.

He was good at carrying the emotional story of Han, and I felt he sold us on his motives of love.

And let’s not bullshit fans into thinking Emilia Clarke wasn’t a lame ass attempt to lure Game of Thrones fans.

Well she was unrecognizable as Daenerys Targaryen in this film so the Game of Thrones attempt is wrong. I also doubt it was an attempt to lure game of thrones fans as she did so much for Terminator: Genysys.

Wow you got obnoxious, lol!

Look at you speaking up on behalf of the black fans, I'm sure they appreciate it.

This.

His voice actually cracked like Peter Brady a couple times. He looked like Solo but sounded nothing like him.

He's a Beta Solo.

100% agreed. Hey look! we finally agreed on something.

Yeah...I kept thinking of Leo DiCaprio in Titanic. I warmed to him, though. It's a good movie.

reply

Titanic? I was getting the vibe of Leo from Inception where he talks in his low voice about how he must deal with the memory of leaving his kids.

reply

The separation from Qi'ra reminded me of Jack and Rose, too.

I loved Titanic and have seen it many times. I saw Inception once and hated it.

:p

I liked the actor, I liked the character in the movie, but he just isn't the Han Solo I know and like. He could be.....Harry Solo.
He just didn't look, feel, acted like Han Solo. But like a different character.

Still liked him in the movie though. They just should have never made this movie.

That is part of the problem with the origin film. The character has to be different so that we see that he is not complete yet.

I think they should have jsut gone with an adventure film and had who ever played Han do so closer to the Han from the films.

His head is so SQUARE that he looks like a Minecraft character...

Ehrenreich is a Disney pretty boy, the exact type of actor they'd throw on one of those godawful shows on the Disney Channel.

I bet that's exactly why KK chose him, especially as he was the FIRST to audition.
