John Campea receiving hateful comments online because he likes Solo.

I don't feel the need to defend podcast personalities most days, yet John is one of the truly good guys who just enjoys movies in general and even puts in kind words for movies he doesn't really like. Apparently he's getting all kids of disturbing comments online from people upset that he spoke positively about the new Star Wars movie, Solo.

I feel for him. I can understand some random name-calling here and there, but some of the messages he's gotten are threatening violence. WTF is wrong with people?!?

You can catch John Campea on youtube. Like I said, he's one of the podcast personalities who's very upbeat about movies, whether you agree or disagree with his take.

I'm not a fan of the SJW agenda either but there's a line of decency people need to not cross. It's a movie. If you don't like it, don't see it. I understand if someone is a big fan and doesn't want propaganda in their beloved movies. There are far more constructive ways to make your point. Take it up with Disney. John's just a guy who loves movies. He doesn't work for Disney.

I just checked his original video and looked for the really hateful comment (the ones like "gonna rape your sister" or "you're useless shit"), and they weren't there. There were some comments calling him a shill, but while that can be rude, I don't think it qualifies as hateful.

It seems that the whole story has been dressed.

I also looked. Couldnt see any harsh comments either. Just people telling him he is a Disney fanboy/ paid off by Disney.

Nothing. I just think it's unnecessary but you have you opinion. At least you're not threatening him. That's mainly what I'm talking about, people who are posting threats, veiled or otherwise.

C'mon man... no one here is a Nazi. That's a term people throw around too much.

I don't "hate" anyone although I think a far range of people have their priorities waaay out of whack. If someone wants to call John Campea a name, then fine. That's their right. Sending the guy threatening messages because he gave a good review to Solo, that's what I think is crossing the line.
