It’s a smorgasbord of fanservice moments that practically look directly into the camera and wink, but each time it happens, the gesture gets less and less endearing. In fact, about halfway through the relentless self-referencing and over-explanation of just about every aspect of Han’s character starts to feel less like an attempt to tell a real story and more like an honest effort to make the entire Star Wars universe seem like an engine powered by cosmic coincidences.

Damn, that's pure prequel territory right there! I've got a bad feeling about this...

Still, it may not kill the fun of the movie.

Why does metacritic consider a 70 score positive? Fair or mediocre would be more descriptive.

reply

Nonsense. Mixed should be 33-66 if you divide three ways.

I'm thinking school grades. 70 sounds like crap to me. A movie with 90+ gets my attention.

Metacritic divides in five ways. 40-60 is average. 61-80 generally positive. 81-100 universal acclaim.
