AFTER acting lessons..... wow how truly bad was he before? none of the right mannerisms, none of the proper inflection or voice and speech patterns, none of the cool calm confidence, looks nothing like him.

This film is a little insulated from being a bomb because of the Star Wars name. I am wondering what it will do in relation to the current crop of SW films.

It’s box office was literally almost half of the previous film....
Star Wars is so unliked in China they literally took Star Wars out of the name.
If you keep releasing bad movies you tarnish the Star Wars brand. Which will sooner rather than later become so devalued these 200 million dollar production budget films (throw in another 200 million for advertising) will be lucky to break even.
The last Jedi was so poorly received by fans that a month ago, only 3 months after TLJs release, their toys started being sold for 1$ since no one wanted them..
My guess is episode 9 does around 1 billion, solo does 700 billion. And without a really popular, well made and praised film like say a good obiwan film. Each Star Wars film takes less and less until the franchise is valueless or barely make profits
Keep in mind TLJ took a dive and made a huge profit, I find it unlikely Solo will not make a reasonable profit. So as far as a bomb is concerned in the traditional sense I don't think its likely. However I am curious on how it will perform overall. If it does as well as R1 or better then I think the name Star Wars still does enough and/or it was actually a decent film. If it falls below R1 then Disney has some undeniable concerns that need addressing.

As I said the LJ almost halved its profit from FA. I’m not saying a drop wasn’t expected. But Disney was so shooken by rian johnsons failure they took him off his own trilogy..
If you don’t think this is alarming you know nothing about film and the studios. And if you can’t read in between the lines of what is happening I don’t know what to tell you..
