Ok so, the film MIGHT be a disaster
share
Nah...that's all old news. Personally, I can't wait for this movie. I
I do, however, fear that it won't do well at the box office and could possibly be the first Star Wars film to actually LOSE money. Disney's Star Wars seems to have become really "uncool" in the publics eyes and we will continue to see further erosion at the box office.
The real "disaster" here is that the film probably cost 300 million to produce so it will be very hard to break even.
At this point we are probably looking at 500 million worldwide and that's being optimistic. It could go much lower.
I mean, I hope for the best out of this movie too. But you're not too concern about its critical reception going either way, or turn into another Suicide Squad scenario at worse? Since it did ran into production trouble and had to switch out directors before post-production. Its competition does seem tough (I'm surprised this didn't get push back to December this time), but would likely do a lot better overseas.
shareDecember is too competitive for this as well. I created a thread where I posit that August/September would give this film the best shot at success. The Last Jedi was the first indication that Star Wars no longer owns December with how drastically it collapsed after it's opening weekend.
I'm afraid it's going to get eaten alive this May.
hey queen, nice to have you back...
Just wanted to get your thoughts on a few things...
#1-https://www.comicbookmovie.com/deadpool/deadpool_2/box-office-deadpool-2-is-currently-tracking-for-an-opening-weekend-well-beneath-the-first-movie-a159097
thoughts on Deadpool 2 tracking Well Beneath Deadpool 1..JUST AS I PREDICTED a MONTH AGO?
remember I told you a mouth ago, I believed Deadpool 2 would decrease in box office from Deadpool 1, I said I expected DP 2 to be a huge hit, but make less than Deadpool 1 across the board, I said I thought DP 2 would be between 700 to 750M(again keep in mind this was before reports came out of horrible test screenings and now of low tracking), this was just my knowledge of Box office and understanding DP1's reception was going to be impossible to replicate....remember how you nearly had a heart attack, and responded with "did you just say Deadpool 2 was going to Decrease......lol", you then went on to all but guaranteed DP2 would make more than DP 1 and act like I was crazy
so again thoughts now a month later?
lol all signs pointing to Old Bill Brown Nailing another one, while you once again show your complete lack of box office knowledge...
also worth noting, I think I'm going to be off on my 700 to 750 M prediction, its looking like DP 2 is going to have a much larger Decrease from DP1, A Decrease similar to BvS and JL...
I'm now predicting a gross between 625 and 675 Million for DP2(Still a hit, But With out a doubt a HUGE step back and clear that DP 1's box office was the PEAK of the Box office Success of the DP Franchise)
Maybe, MAYBE if DP2 somehow gets excellent reviews and is as good or better than the first MAYBE DP might get back up to 700 to 750 M, But IMO that is DEAD.....The test screening revealed the movie has serious problem from A HUGE "Alien 3" type Misstep in the plot, to Copying "Loopers" plot for Cable(which was later confirmed in the newest trailer)...IMO DP2 has no shot at getting Great reviews or having a similar reaction from audiences...I'm expecting somewhere between 55 to 70% on RT, With average audience scores
also worth noting, None of this makes me happy, DP 1 is my #7 favorite CBM of All time and IMO one of the best CBMs ever...I was/am extremely excited about DP2, It makes me sad that its clearly going to have a huge decrease in box office and not be a Great movie, While I dont blame Fox for taking Reynolds Side, after DP1, Fox had to keep Reynold happy and get him Signed on for more DP films, But IMO its looking like a HUGE mistake for Fox to Let Tim Miller go, Reynolds and Miller had very different directions they wanted to take the sequel, Fox Picked Reynolds and Let Miller go, IMO its clear they should have brought them both back and figured it out...

lol did you hear RPO is heading toward a 45 to 50 M OW.....as usual thats extremely close to what I predicted, which was 35 to 45 M, which I then added(Probably closer to 45).....also like usual, its nowhere close to your ABSURD and HILARIOUSLY AWFUL 85 Million dollar Opening Weekend prediction....
thoughts?
thoughts on once again MISSING by an absurd amount on OW predictions...
lol you missed by 56 Million on Justice League when you Predicted 150 M+
lol you missed by 71 Million on The Last Jedi when you Predicted 149 M
lol you missed by 81 Million on Black Panther when you Predicted 120 M
I mean I guess if you wanted to look at the bright side, there is some improvement here, It seems your ONLY gonna MISS on RPOs OW by 40 Million Or So....lol
PS
thought of any comebacks yet for............"Disney having 5 1 Billion dollar + films and 3 800 M+ films in the last year While WB had 0"
lol every time I bring this up you turn into a Ghost a disappear, I figure maybe in the 4 days you've been gone you might have thought of something....anything?
NOthing?
ok well how about this, You also always turn into ghost and Literally refuse to comment when ever I bring up "Disney had 12 films gross over 1 Billion in the last 5 years and 15 from over 650 M while WB has had 0 Billion dollar films and ONLY 6 that grossed 650M"
anything?...I've brought these facts up at least a half dozen times now, you've yet to respond in any way(I dont blame you, YOUR BEAT, YOU know it) but just thought given your 4 days away, You may have came up with Something?
NO?
At this point we are probably looking at 500 million worldwide and that's being optimistic. It could go much lower.
^^^^
SOLO could be the single worst Movie ever made and still make more than 500 Million World Wide....
Please stop giving box office predictions, Or at the very least give proper context, Say upfront "I'm awful at box office, I'm Always Way off, But IMO At this point we are probably looking at 500 million worldwide and that's being optimistic. It could go much lower."
you literally wrote 1 line and there is so much wrong with it I dont even know where to begin...
first again theres zero chance Solo makes less than 500 Million....
Second that fact that you said "It could go MUCH lower" is just Stunningly Absurd....somehow you made a complete Absurd statement worse, you could have just failed completely by saying "It could go lower"....but impossibly You took it up a notch a failed SPECTACULARLY by adding "MUCH"
Solo could be a disappointment or even lose money....but there is Zero chance it performs they way your are suggesting...and I MEAN that LITERALLY...I truly mean Solo could be the Worst movie of 2018, it could get a "F" cinemascore and get a "0%" on RT and its still making at least 500 Million...
me, I am expecting a Disappointment, I think Disney Will lose money on Solo and I think it will be seen as a disappointment....My prediction is, I believe Solo Will have nearly the exact same Theatrical run as Justice League...
I think SOLO Will open between 75 to 95 Million....I think it will Gross between 200 to 235 Million Domestically and it will gross between 625 to 700 Million World Wide....I think it will get bad to mixed reviews(Again extremely similar to JL) I think it will get around 40 to 50% on RT With most critic pointing out you can tell its been heavily reshot and has TONE problems(again extremely similar to JL)
I think due to the budget, due to Disney Spending upwards of 300 M ...Plus Marketing, A 625 to 700 M dollar final gross will result in Disney losing money on Solo and the film universally being seen as a Disappointment...(again extremely similar to JL)...I do think Solo Will be seen/viewed in a slightly better light though, as JL is seen as a Disaster, I think Solo Will be seen as a Disappointment...
you are once again letting your weird unnatural hatred for Disney completely cloud your judgement resulting in you making completely absurd and IMPOSSIBLE predictions...
you dont go from 3 1 Billion plus Star Wars films down to A Sub 500 M plus film....lol its impossible
The DCEU had 4 out of 5 universally hated films, and JL still didnt drop below 500 M
The Transformers film were Universally hated, the last 2 before The Last Knight made over 1 Billion, then The Last Knight has a MONSTER DROP and still didnt drop below 500 M
The last 4 Pirates movies all almost made 1 Billion +, the newest Pirates movie had a MONSTER drop, bit it still didnt drop below 500 M
these franchises all had 3 or 4 films that were Hated, that were all going on a downward trajectory and Still when the wheels fell off they didnt drop below 500 M.
there is simply no precedent, for the kinda of drop you just predicted....
Films franchises dont collapse like that, especially coming off 3 universally praised films that all made over 1 Billion...It would take TIME and SEVERAL bad to awful films for A Star Wars film to lose audiences enough to see a Star Wars film gross 500 M or less...
You dont understand box office, You didnt understand your "500 M or less" prediction isnt actually a prediction...there no factual data behind that prediction, nothing you can point to base that absurd prediction on...You literally just threw out a Low number because you hate Disney....
One of the worlds most beloved franchises and brands.
And 4 movies in they may lose money. And that makes you excited for how Disney has been handling it so far and future films?
Wow.. embarassing
FLOP
shareHow could this be?
It's using the same formula as Terminator Genisys - take a legendary sci-fi franchise, remove all the established actors that form the core of the franchise, and go back in time to younger versions of the characters we know, and throw in Emilia Clarke and a bunch more chases and explosions. Can't miss!
*closes up book, removes reading glasses, stares thoughtfully into the distance, lights up pipe, puffs a few good ones, clears throat, drinks a fine 70 something old wine*
HOO-AH!!!
In that case, release the always entertaining fan/internet outrage! (bound to happen even if the movie is far from a disaster.)
I dunno man, nobody actually anted a SOLO film. People wanted a Obi Wan film, or a Mara Jade film. I personally wanted more films set in between Episode 6 and 7. But nah, here's a half backed Han film in stead.
