Disney pusses out, removes Han's blaster from poster

Bunch of virtue signaling idiots....why not replace the blaster with a walkie talkie?

reply

They should've replaced it with a baby rattle and stuck a dummy tit in his mouth since that must be the audience they're trying to appeal to.

I think Han's expression is hilarious with the blaster removed. It's like someone hiding behind a door just scared him as he came into a room.

reply

😄

I think he looks like he's about to be handed a baton in a relay race.

Movie posters leads to violence and street crimes. This is a known fact.

We must protect our children from these violence promoting movie posters.

reply

Lmao

Different artwork was just used on posters in Brazil. This is just people getting outraged for no reason.

So bad in many ways and I still can't figure out why Emila gets a poster as well.

70s/80s was the moment with the highest level of freedom. From 90s on, it's going backwards.

In the 97 they changed the scene so Han doesn't shot first. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Han_shot_first

ET changed the guns to walkie talkies in 2002, which (I suppose) it's your reference. For whoever doesn't know: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/96/ET1982.jpg

2018, Han doesn't have a blaster.

We're screwed.

Well, Lucasfilm just released two new official posters (to coincide with the full trailer release today), and he does have a blaster.

I don't think the blaster was removed due to controversy. International marketing just does things differently. Lucasfilm also got in trouble with plagiarizing the posters from an album cover artist. So maybe things had to be reworked and reframed, and the gun lost out in the bid for attention.

reply

There is no Lucasfilm anymore. Thats just the name of an department at Disney!

And the artists postings were already removed. So that isnt a problem at all. Disney just panicked that a movie about a smuggler could show armed smugglers on the poster :) .
