Why is Emilia Clarke (Qi'Ra) in this movie?

She will be the third British heroine to grace a Star Wars movie. Any thoughts?

Board Meeting.

Exec: What's popular these days guys?

Lackey: Uh, Game of Thrones?

Exec: Right, who can we get?

reply

I'd love to see Peter Dinklage in a Star Wars film one day, and throw in Charles Dance too!

Maybe at the end of episode 9 he'll jump out of R2D2 and be like "It's been me since episode VII!" 😊

reply

LOL!

reply

Why wouldnt she be?

reply

Why would she be?

reply

Because she's popular with the nerds, and she can make Alden Ehrenreich look as tall as Harrison Ford?

Why not her!

reply

Haha I hope so. I am still trying to figure the purpose of casting an A list star. Alden and Donald are C list actors so I guess you need an A list actress to make people want to see it. Plus you get a bigger fan base with the Game of Throne nerds. In a movie thats called Solo and is about Han Solo, I find it odd that Qi'Ra gets top billing. Another Kathleen conspiracy?

reply

I wouldn't consider Clarke an A list star....

reply

I only base that on is because she is on the most popular series right now.

reply

She's not a proven box-office star, but she's pretty and charming, and she won't cost as much as Scarlett Johanssen.

And her height, or lack of it, really is a factor.

reply

She's just a TV actress... We're not talking Jennifer Lawrence here...

reply

nailed it!

reply

Cause the Royal Elite is one of the pillars of Hollywood.

reply

She's the second Game of Thrones actress to get a Star Wars role.

reply

Who's the other?

Edit: wait, got it! Captain Phasma of course!

reply

Of course!

reply

But Phasma is not short and cute and always gets beat up.
