I left just when the transexual appeared (my wife decided to exit and I had to follow...) Can someone please just tell what happens from that point on (at least the most relevant bits)? I just want to know how it ends...

Their relationship continues to fall apart.
Then there's a flashback of their first encounter, and how their love was so strong in the beginning.

The film ends with older-mustache Murphy crying in the bathtub, emotionally wrecked and not knowing Electra's fate.
