He was trying to make a name for himself and succeeded. He's gone on to work with Nicolas Refn and Tom Ford, as well as a few other solid filmmakers coming up. And as far as this film, his dong lol and all the hype, he actually did a great job with the EMOTIONS of the film. Definitely took alot of BALLS... Or Shaft in this case.
