The following points are brought out in this interview of Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick, History professor at American University

1. Snowden was a difficult film to make because so little information is known about the NSA.

2. Snowden believes that the government is not obeying the Constitution.

3. THE NSA has not stopped any terrorist attacks.

4. You cannot give up your liberties for delusional security and that the U.S. government is doing exactly what Hitler did when he came to power, according to Oliver Stone.

5. U.S. Surveillance programs were begun in 1901 against the people of the Philippines, then during WWI and WWII similar programs were set up in the U.S.

6. Oliver Stone admits that he has not taken an official position on the matter of Snowden but does want people to be more conscious about the events surrounding Snowden and then they can make up their own minds.

7. Oliver Stone would like to see Snowden pardoned.

8. Under the "Espionage Act", Snowden cannot make a public interest defense on his own behalf. He cannot say what he did was in the public interest……….”

11. The U.S. Constitution is being violated but there is no prosecution. Obama has not held anyone accountable like he said he would. Obama has not confronted the powerful concerning their lawbreaking.

12. Oliver Stone does not like Hillary or Trump. The debates are about personalities. The right questions are not being asked at these debates. The media is complicit - they can’t disturb the American people with the real issues.

13. Spying operations are working heavily against Russia. Russia has been dragged into the election campaign and there is no proof that Russia is our enemy. Hillary Clinton is making up lies against Putin. He is being compared with Stalin and Hitler and he is neither. The U.S promised Russia that it would not expand the its Empire, but instead it has extended it up to Russia’s doorstep. It is the U.S. that is at fault, not Russia. George Bush contends now that the Ukraine and Georgia are now potential NATO candidates. We are pushing Russia up against a wall thinking that they are not going to respond. Of course they are going to respond to defend their national interests. The risk of war is real at this point.

14. Oliver Stone is working on a documentary about Putin.

15. Cyber warfare is the new normal now, and Oliver Stone wonders if it could be an excuse to start a nuclear war.
