I'm watching it now on Netflix(never saw it on NBC). I have to say it's no way they would've broadcast this on NBC without censorship.

Was also surprised by how gripping the show is and how it stays gripping. Zipped through season one. Disappointed when I realized there were no more episodes. LOL.
Maybe it will be a new production trend for network TV -- shoot the show at an R rating, but editable to TV-PG without butchering. This way the end up with a more competitive product for the streaming/DVD market.
I thought it was pretty gripping, too, and quite dark and was pretty impressed it managed to maintain this pace (I'm still only on E5). I thought I had heard it was cancelled and was pleasantly surprised to read there would be a season 2.
My only complaint is that it's probably too modern in its sensibilities, I would have expected a lot more racist behavior out of the cops.
mobocracy, it already is a trend. AMERICAN CRIME, for instance, does the same thing.
shareI'm rewatching season one on Netflix. It's better the 2nd time around - watching online with no commercials. It's so dark visually and literally, that it's nice to be able to lighten the screen and also use captions. The only thing I've seen are quite a few boobs. I haven't noticed the language, but I think I've been desensitized since cursing is on basic cable now. I thought it was OK the first time I saw it, but it is really great this time. I'm really excited for season two.
