Name of 1st Episode

Why is the name of the first episode Helter Skelter when it aired on tv--but when you go to nbc.com it is called i'm so tired...?

GOOSE IS DEAD!

Episode 1 was I'm So Tired, Episode 2 was Happiness Is a Warm Gun and Episode 3 was Why Don't We Do It in the Road, with them combined on TV the optimist in me says they just named the combination Helter Skelter because of that (where as you watch them individually online).

While the cynic in me says they used Helter Skelter as the name to grab the attention of people looking over the TV Guide given that was the book and film names.

All three individual titles are tracks off "The White Album" anyway, along with "Helter Skelter" and it makes sense to bundle the three under the name of the song that meant most to Manson.

All the episodes of this season listed so far are White Album Tracks, next is Revolution 1 and then Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey. So was expecting a separate episode to be called Helter Skelter, however this season could even be called Aquarius: Helter Skelter (as an overall arc) and it could fit nicely for all 13 episodes.

Also yes it was likely done for all 3 episodes combined (as I said in the bit you didn't quote), which besides that works in the context of the saying everything has gone all helter skelter. As the 3 episodes going from 1969 to 1967 etc., and what they contained showed how it was/had unravelled and gone all wrong (helter skelter) for Manson.

Edit: And yes I know the song is about a spiralling slide in a UK amusement park, not the dictionary meaning of helter-skelter and things going wrong. Or the Manson interpreted apocalyptic war arising from racial tensions between blacks and whites tied to Manson's version of Revelations with The Beatles being the Locusts (and the locusts faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women = The Beatles in his mind).

I didn't realize they titled the first 3 episodes Helter Skelter since I didn't watch live. With all the white album episode titles, I just assumed it was building up to Helter Skelter as the season finale.
