I don't know why she would waste the energy 'being against it' unless she could leverage it. The timing of Aquarius contributed to LVH parole being denied. They almost let her out last time, so Sharon's sister needed all the publicity she could get. I doubt she would have said anything if it weren't for the parole issue. She knows she's not going to stop any show about Manson.
