NBC spins the numbers for Saturday, August 27.

[via press release from NBC]

In Late-Night Metered-Market Household Averages for Saturday Night:

· An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Jonah Hill and musical guest Future, averaged a 2.2 rating, 6 share in household results from the 56 markets metered by Nielsen Media Research and a 0.9/5 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

· The Aug. 27 "SNL" equaled the show's August 2015 average in 18-49 in the local people meters (0.9 vs. 0.9 for August 2015).

· Note that "SNL" adds significant viewership via time-shifting, with originals this past season growing by +49% going from L+SD to L+7 in adults 18-49 (1.83 to 2.72) and +2.090 million persons in total viewers (6.051 million to 8.141 million).

Saturday Primetime Ratings:

Note there were multiple local preemptions last night for NFL pre-season football on most networks, so Saturday fast-affiliate results are subject to significant revision. As these preliminary numbers stand...

A rebroadcast of "America's Got Talent" (0.5/3 in 18-49, 2.8 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET):

· Is currently up versus the show's previous Saturday encore by 0.1 of a point in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.4 at 8 p.m. on July 30) and +7% in total viewers (2.832 million vs. 2.652 million).

"Aquarius" (0.4/2 in 18-49, 2.1 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET):

· Is currently matching its season high in 18-49, pending updates.

· Is currently reporting the show's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results to date for a Saturday telecast.

· Will increase substantially via time-shifting and VOD - "Aquarius" has increased by +35% this summer in 18-49 rating (from a 0.40 to a 0.54) and 695,000 viewers overall (1.8 million to 2.5 million) going from L+SD to L+7 Nielsens.

A second telecast of "Aquarius" (0.3/1 in 18-49, 1.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):

· Is currently equaling the show's second-highest 18-49 rating to date for a Saturday episode, pending updates, and generating its second-biggest total-viewer average for a Saturday telecast, behind only last night's 9 p.m. edition.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

I'm confused. Is that good enough for NBC to renew it? I hope so.

reply

It looks like a rerun of Saturday Night Live got as many viewers, so it doesn't look that good to me.

reply

No, I don't believe that they will renew it but it really didn't do bad up against football and being on a Sat evening.

reply

The reruns did as good as Aquarius.

reply

Yes, they did but quite a few people could not even get it at all. I think the ratings would have been higher if it would have actually played on the regular channel. I had to watch it on the Cozi network. I never even heard of that. If my friend didn't let me know I would have missed it altogether because it wasn't on CBS and it was not on On Demand.

reply

Because of sports?

reply

Yes, football

reply

NBC, and I watched it on demand. :)

reply

Do you have Comcast? AS of yesterday it wasn't listed On Demand.

reply

No, Cox. ;-)

reply

Thanks:) Well I was able to watch it on an alternate channel and I did DVR it.
