Sorry, Merrykate, but you're not getting off that easily. Manson is not a "paranoid schizophrenic", as you allege. I would say he's something closer to what we now call Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly, multiple personality disorder). It may be worth noting to some of you who might care for these things, that Manson fit the profile perfectly for the type of individual the early CIA used in its notorious MKULTRA program, using techniques Josef Mengele and other Nazis used in the camps during WW2. A higher than average IQ, early sexual trauma, in and out of Boys Town, ability to dissociate or enter trancelike states: this fits the profile for what the CIA was looking for to mold individuals into whatever form they wished. Of course, this may all be coincidental. However, somewhere buried in the archives of McLean, VA we might someday discover the truth. Revolution worldwide was a very real possibility in 1968-70. The Establishment naturally took steps to eradicate it by any means necessary. They succeeded. And so history books continue to transmit the myth that the Manson Family "killed off" the counterculture from that era. The CIA won that round. They won't a second time.
