How much longer can this show last for?

I remember when the show started the creator said he planned the show for 6 seasons. But now that the show has reached the Manson murders, how much more can there be? Like maybe 1 more season detailing the trial and aftermath. But I can't imagine how it could be dragged out for 4 more seasons unless the Manson character was dropped completely and it moved on to new people in the early 70s (akin to Narcos).

I mean we'll probably never know the answer since the show probably won't get a 3rd season but the creator must have changed his 6 season plan, right?

I feel like maybe they saw the end coming so they jumped ahead to the murders.

I doubt they would have these murders in the second season if they saw a future for it. Although they could show the trial- which would be interesting- I doubt it could last 4 seasons. Unless they focused on the other stuff, maybe on Emma and other police cases while Manson left the show (ie went to prison).

So much stuff was crammed into the second season that can't have been the plan.

I was waiting for Emma to leave, for Linda Kasabian to show up etc. I get this show was not factual but they totally abandoned all truth within the last few episodes. I wonder if it's because they couldn't plan her exit/introduce someone new with such little time to go.

I kind of think that Emma was their version of Linda Kasabian...at least in the area of the Tate/LaBianca murders. She didn't participate but she was there and saw things just like the real Linda did. That's just my observation. I wish they were going to be able to show a third season because to me there are just too many things left undone.

John McNamara said NBC asked him to jump ahead to the murders in S2. Probably because the Manson arc was least interesting part to viewers and they want to get the main part of it out of the way.

Me too. Aquarius S2 is just now starting up in foreign countries, probably will have to wait and see how it's received overseas before a decision is made. Being that it does have international interest and dollars is a positive thing. NBC may not renew but it has a chance of being picked up by another platform because of that. I honestly think the Manson storyline was toned down in S2 as compared to S1. If S3 is renewed I bet the focus will shift to Hodiak and Shafe's personal lives and also how the murders affected them. Which is what I want.

I would love that. I am interested in all the non Manson characters. I even like the minor characters like Meg (?) and that other uniformed cop that Hodiak gives a hard time. I really enjoy Hodiak and Shafe's partnership and I love Kristin and Bri and would like to see things workout for them.

I hope they just drop the Manson plot anyway, it's the least interesting part of the show and it seems to struggle trying to fit in with the Sam/Brian narrative.

I don't know, but dang it, I like this show. I want them to find a way to keep it going. Also, the seasons should be longer. somebody should pass a law and make them keep making episodes so I can watch them year round. lol
Nah, not really. But I really enjoy this show. I hope they continue it for at least a couple more seasons.

Dang. Oh well. I was kind of worried something was up when they started showing 2 episodes at a time. It was like they were trying to get rid of the show as fast as possible or something.

I'm at episode 10 and I came to this board today to know if the show had been cancelled: I had the feeling it had been cancelled as season 2 was rushed and they obviously tried to wrap everything.
