13-year olds know nothing about love

I couldn't disagree more.
They know things we've forgotten.

Amen to that. Maybe the only reason I'd enjoy a time machine is to briefly revisit the 13 year old I once was to pick that brain, then, in the next hour, return to today. No good could come of staying there too long. LOL

I think they know about infatuation, not love. What Doris felt for John was infatuation. How could she love him, she barely knew him. She may have felt some passion or lust, but that's not love.

And all the pieces matter (The Wire)

Check your ageism.

13 year olds may be clumsy, but that's because we live in a society than infantilizes them instead of respecting them and teaching them how to become well adjusted, organized, disciplined adults. Kids are taught about Jesus and mitochondrion in school instead of being taught about taxes and sexuality and relationships.

They may be clumsy at love, they may cheat on each other and break each others hearts, but that is love whether you're ageist or not.

I mean, I could argue adults don't know anything about love either, judging from the divorce rate in this country. I'm assuming you've been happily married with your wife for 20 years and never had a single argument? Just because a single argument can destroy a teenager's relationship, doesn't mean their love wasn't real, just that they were ill prepared to handle a relationship, and who's fault is that, really?
