Doris was very mean to Uncle Frank. She would not even look at him when he was talking to her. In effect, she is guilty of the same ill behavior she receives. I suppose we are meant to dismiss Uncle Frank as not-a-main-character, but I think a sequel following the apparently sad life of Frank would be interesting. Unfortunately the title is taken: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3163080/, so maybe "Hello, My Name is Uncle Frank."

I don't recall her being "mean" to Uncle Frank. She didn't evince much interested in him, but she wasn't interested in him anyway and was in love with his nephew. She at least saved Uncle Frank some wasted time barking up the wrong tree. Rejection is hard on the rejectee, but I've always respected woman who tell me, "Sorry, not gonna happen" right up front.
