Jerome isn't Joker = Destroyed the show

So I am going to make it very simple... As I have read/watched Batman for over 20 years

Joker doesn't show up until AFTER Bruce Wayne goes to Tibet and AFTER he becomes the Dark Knight

Jerome is 10yrs too early!! The writers and producers said over and over again that he wasn't Joker and they killed him off. But no crazy fans can't handle rejection so they stalk every form of media with their demands.

So now we have a "forced" fake character masking around as "Joker" and forcing the timeline.

Bruce Wayne is hardly a teenager and people are forcing him to be something he's not ready for!!

Ohh and yess we get a "3 month" interruption as punishment from the horrible show 24! So that means the veiwing for Gotham will suffer very bad and when it returns we will get only 2 months before the summer. Btw this means Gotham will be cancelled very soon.

We should of had 10 seasons aka 10 years of the show but now we will be lucky if we get 4 or 5 seasons.

All of you Jerome idiots ruined Gotham, Congratulations!!

If you don't know that this show isn't canon, you never will and you should stop watching and complaining.

reply

There is no canon. Canon is a stupid idea.

This Joker origins is just another interpretations and its own universe, call it like just another earth no.x or something. Also as far as the portrayal goes this is pretty good, even better than that clown from BvS universe (Suicide Squad), LOL. Even his laughter is superior. Also joker lose his face literally is something that happened in comics. so yeah . . .

I love Jerome/The Joker personally. and he has to be the joker at ths point because anyone else would just be a *beep* copycat

reply

The problem is, this is one Batman show that's not going to NEED a Batman by the time it's over. All the worst of the worst will be retired, dead or locked up in Arkham by Jim Gordon personally.

This, unless the villians start teaming up and defeating Gordon and the police over and over again, by the end of the show I want to see Gordon on the verge of giving up, then along comes...Batman.

But as it presently stands Gordon has locked up most of Batman’s famous foes, who needs a guy in a cape when Gotham has a super cop?

reply

As long as this show is on air, we will never see batman on tv. Jerome is a good choice for the joker, but in this show he will never meet batman.

We got Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and since season two even superman on tv an we got Super Gordon in Gotham ... without Batman :(

Well, he is one of best portrayals of Joker-ish I have seen in a while. I don't watch Gotham, I quit it a long time ago. But came back to see Jerome once more. Fans were crying day and night to on Social Media to bring back Jerome, and here he is.

How the name, "Martha" brought out the real Batman

I stopped watching because they messed with too many of the characters and timeline. I get that it's their own thing, but they're using existing things as the basis of it, and you don't really get as much freedom with it as you'd like, as the more liberties you take, the more you push away some fans of the source material.

I was constantly asking myself why I kept watching the show, and finally stopped during the drawn out Mad Hatter bit early this season.

I felt there was a real nod to the Joker at one point though, there was a scene that started focused on a comedian bombing at the Penguins club, if anybody is the Joker, that guy fits the bill.

Honestly though, I think I may still be watching the show if it didn't take lace in the Batman universe, if it was just an oddball detective show with whacky villains, I feel it wouldn't push me away by butchering source material. Swap some names and stuff around and it's fine really, you get some nods to the Batman universe without actually trampling on it, since it's something unrelated.

As it stands though, I really don't see Batman ever being created with the way the show was going, there's no real need for him, Bruce hasn't even began his real training/travel yet (returns to Gotham at 25, was gone for 12 years, meaning he should be gone by 13), Gordon is still in Gotham (he was in Chicago for 15 years, moves to Gotham around the time Bruce comes back, meaning he should be gone 2 years before Bruce leaves), and Flass and Loeb have been dealt with.

The show was alright in Season 1, but after that it just deviated way too much from the source material for me to really enjoy it.

so why exactly are you here if you don't watch the show? I'm not over on the Golden Girls board telling them why i don't watch THEIR show.

reply

Jerome isnt joker like Selina isnt catwoman, Nigma isnt Riddler etc and bruce isnt batman.....While he is clearly going down the road, jerome isnt joker yet. the story is setting everything up

"The Truth may Hurt but to Lie is Agony"

reply

EXactly what i was thinking. one could imagine that jerome will or may disapear at some point, to re-apear later on in the timeline of the story as the joker.

reply

Please Mr.krism, just shut up!!

reply

It doesn't matter...if the show runs long enough they can always do a story where Jerome as the full fledged joker is starting to loose interest, feeling that its just not funny anymore and then he sees the bat for the first time and bang... game on... there is many ways they can make the bat fit when the time comes.

reply

The time won't come. I give this one more season, at best. They're repeating themes over and over again. How many times do villains die, only to be revived and then they die again? And wish Fish returning once MORE, this entire season has been a sorry retread.

reply

Jerome absolutely sucks as Joker. Worst joker I've ever seen. It's like he's just going "look at me, I'm so whacky! look at how crazy I am hehe!" the entire time. It's obnoxious, he's trying to tell the audience he's crazy instead of letting them come to the conclusion through his acting.

reply

I don't get this?

Why can't people just accept it's taking the DC characters and doing it's own spin on them?

are you mad nygmia is already the riddler? and that he never worked for bruce company and got fired and thats why he's mad.
are you mad that poison Ivy legit got aged by magic?
are you mad that cat woman and bruce have a realtionship at teens even tho, they don't meet until later in his batman career?
are you mad that alfred is training him over rhaz?

like really, if the Comic book company said we are going to write a new batman comic called gotham with new spins on all there characters all these mad fanbois would be fine with it. Just look at the show like that? Technically he's still not even confirmed as the joker, technically he could just be physcopath and one dude who survives this could become the real joker in 20 years.

However this kid has done such a great job on the show he deserves all the credit, so give it to him. I'll watch any episode Gotham has with Jerome in it.

reply

It's not the fact that they are doing a different spin on Joker that people are objecting to. The problem is their spin on Joker absolutely sucks and is irritating

Why does it make you mad that other people have different opinions than you?
