Excellent winter finale!

I have to give serious props to Cory Michael Smith and Robin Lord Taylor for their top notch performances in this episode, although I thought that David Mazouz and Sean Pertwee really stood out as well. The way I see it, this was the finest performance by a good majority of the cast in quite some time, in my opinion.

Holy smokes, hell hath no fury like a Penguin scorned. When he returns I expect Babs will be left with nothing but the clothes on her back. Tabitha will be dead. Butch most likely as well. And Ed I see Penguin using his last mayoral duty to send Ed's skinny butt back to Arkam.

I agree with you. Being that the writers have started to "bring back" dead villains, I no longer feel that those who have died are necessarily gone for good. Plus, Penguin is a vital villain in the Batman series, so I just can't see them killing him off like that.

As for Babs, Tabitha, and Butch, you are spot on as well as I could definitely see that happening. It seems to me, anyway, that they are just side characters at this point without a decent story line, and I have a feeling that the writers are beginning to feel the same way.

The way I see it, Penguin deserved to die for the murder of Isabella and for betraying and lying to Ed about his role in her demise. But if Ed gets sent back to Arkham, though, then Penguin should too. Both are certifiably insane even though they both claimed to have been cured of their "mental illness." Although it was Dr. Strange that only refueled their insanity.

I think Ed is a two faced nut job. He was the one telling Penguin that now that his mother was gone he was totally free, because people wouldn't be able to control him anymore, but when it happens to him he's singing a different tune. Penguin will return and I hope he kicks the tar out of that dope!

And as for Bab's crazy a$$, she wouldn't have anything if it weren't for Penguin. He gave her a freaking nightclub!! She needs to be killed. And poor Tabitha making that remark about stabbing Penguin's mom......she just purchased herself a one way ticket to "Murderville"
Butch, I feel sorry for, because Ed just pushed him out of the way and drove him to what he did.

reply

You are right. He told his friend after his mother died to make the best of it, so when his friend kills his GF he should be thankful!

I really hope you don't have friends.

I would rather see her without the clothes on her back. >:)

Agreed. It was an all around great episode. This show never disappoints.

Gotham’s second winter finale of the season, “The Gentle Art of Making Enemies,” was so awesome it literally punched a dude’s face off! (Jerome should get the Dollmaker to fix that afore he gets kicked into a vat of chemicals.) Why was the carnival the only place with electricity during the blackout? I don’t care because I finally saw someone be devoured by piranhas in a dunk tank! Bruce goading Jerome to shoot staples into his arm to use as (highly improbable) lock-picks then pretending to be pained so he wouldn’t catch on was the most Batman thing he’s done since he tricked Silver St. Cloud into confessing. (He loses points for neither hiding the Court of Owls’ statue in the BatCave two episodes ago nor splurging for decent security despite stately Wayne Manor being attacked like six times already.) https://mattthecatania.wordpress.com/2017/02/06/theres-too-much-tv/
