Dialogue to SFX volume ratio
The bluray . . . dialogue is so low you can barely hear it, yet the sound effects nearly deafen you. Why do movies do that? It's as though it's an action movie and the dialogue is just there for filler.

shareThis is increasingly a problem with many, many films, unfortunately. And not just action films -- I recently saw The Discovery on Netflix and had the same issue with the musical score overwhelming the dialogue. I watch practically half of today's movies with the subtitles on.
shareThe SFX, music, and speech should all be on separate tracks that can be individually adjusted to suit each user's preference.
shareThat is a brilliant idea.
shareThat would be interesting, and useful, but might get a bit complicated.
I also use subtitles on pretty much everything, and usually turn down the volume for battle scenes.
Would you be surprised if they're trying to deafen you? Heck if you ever saw John Wick 2 at the beginning, dear god my ears. Literally had to cover up since I care about my hearing.
