Are they even trying anymore?

There have been several moments in the last two episodes where I literally laugh out loud. I can't believe that someone let these scenes pass. First of all, the zombie kill by the truck. It was clearly fake but viewers shouldn't be able to spot things like that. At least give enough of a shit to pull the wool over my eyes and allow me to somewhat imagine its a "real zombie" getting his head smashed in.

In last nights episode, when John is using the car battery with the horn as a distraction, of course the battery dies and what do the zombies do? They instantly stop and TURN AROUND. This wouldn't happen. They would keep walking into the water.

If you aren't going to try, why bother each week?

I think they're just trying to limp across the line to get enough episodes to syndicate although for the life of me I can't imagine why. The series has never been strong enough to rewatch the earlier seasons except maybe to pinpoint exactly when they went off the rails (hint: it was at Nick's first appearance). Syndication probably means relegation to the midnight to 6 am time slots.

I will say this: the actor playing the trucker guy trapped in the car nailed that performance. From his expressions to the inflection in his voice he WAS that character. I know he didn't get much screen time but he acted circles around the main cast. My guess is the writers simply told him his part was a guy trapped in a car and was going to die and he took it from there. I say that because had the writers written a script for him his character would have been completely unrealistic and forgettable.

Maybe, I hadn't thought about that!

Polar Bear if I'm remembering his name correctly was great and haha that's funny because its true. If they would have given him a script, it would have been shit city. Glad they didn't.

Good question. I feel like they just have given up. This season has been atrocious and it seems like they are just killing time until some of these useless characters join the main show and this garbage is put out of its missery.

reply

Something has to give because yes, atrocious is the word.

The season has been terrible. The Crazy Lady is just F@cking stupid. And how do these people, who have survived for years (at this point) in the Zombie Apocalypse let their guard down to the point where they are blindsided by an old lady with a zombie on a stick. They would be armed, alert and skeptical of any unknown.

reply

At first, I thought they were actually going somewhere with that lady but now, its just mindless garbage.

you are right

Season 4 actually started off decently with interesting characters like John Dorie and even Al. But now each episode gets worse, and even Al has become irritating with her obsession with "stories". At this point, where things are slow already, might as well reveal now [i]why/i] the video tapes are so important to you. Seems like they're saving a poignant reveal for the finale. Will Al bite the dust?

reply

They already revealed that Al's deceased loved ones are on some of the videos. That's why she cares about them so much.
