Madison's husband (Travis)....spoilers.
I apologize in advance.....because I dropped off the show part-way through season 2, and may try getting back into it. What happened to Madison's husband (Travis) and his son? Please advise...(Thanks!)

sharetravis died first episode of last season. he got shot and fell out of the helicopter. his son died the end of season before that, off camera.
shareThank the heavens he died! That actor is one of the worst I have ever seen in my life! He was so wooden, and his eyes would dart back and forth when he was talking. Good riddance. And his stupid ass son, so glad he's gone.
shareI'm in the same boat as you and dropped out about exactly where you did in S2... I've been checking out some season summaries..
I've been disenchanted with following TWD the last 2 seasons and keep hearing that FTWD has improved so much that I'm considering just dropping TWD and giving FTWD another shot.
I thought the S4 premiere was the best episode in that universe that I've seen in at least 2 years.
Right. I thought it was pretty awesome in S2 when they were on the water in that amazing yacht. But then things got bogged down and convoluted once they ended-up in that Mexican village...and the son kept wandering around in walker herds covered in blood, etc. I had to drop off after that. However, I agree....the S4 premier looked intriguing. I found the "Al" character a bit flakey and unrealistic (driving around in a super-armored tank/truck....interviewing people). (Yeah, ok). However....the cowboy character redeemed the episode quite a bit. He was just quirky and likeable enough (yet also a badass) to peak my interest.
In S2, BTW....I thought Strand was the best of the characters, and I wanted him to throw Madison right of his effin boat every time she insisted on bringing STRANGERS onto a boat with limited space and limited resources. As Strand himself said: "Rule Numer One: It's MY BOAT. Rule Number Two: It's MY GD BOAT!" He gave them safe passage, a lifeline off the devoured mainland....a boat with food, water and sleeping quarters....and at every turn, Madison and that foolish daughter kept insisting on trying to fill the boat with strangers? I'd have made them swim home.
That's exactly where I dropped it too..I didn't get what was going on with the son and the blood..It was as if that Mexican group he fell in with were a cult worshiping the walkers and that just seemed ridiculous and not a plot point that worked for me. Madison and her daughter were considered universally annoying, too, at that time. Just like you said.
The thing about Maggie Grace traveling around in that super duper truck is a little Mad Max but it does seem realistic, to me, that there would be someone that would be doing that...I mean, traveling around and recording the Apocalypse and interviewing survivors seems true.
It would give someone a purpose besides just kill or be killed and always being in strictly survival mode and it's ultimately the most optimistic I've ever seen this show go.
I'm really tired of all that ever happens is that the whole point has become just to survive so that they can make other people not survive. There's not much future in that. And it has become depressing and dull.
And if you can get your hands on such a souped up vehicle then it would be foolish to wreck it or let it get stolen like it always happens in TWD. It's the ultimate in traveling safely. I guess now that's what will happen since TWD crossed over. Her good luck will run out
They were pretty foolish in all jumping out at the end to investigate which should have seemed an obvious trap.
But they had to introduce the series regulars in some dramatic way, I guess.
Interesting viewpoint. I'm not sure how Al keeps charging that camcorder of hers...but maybe there's a generator in that super-tanker of hers. I would think that vehicle would make her one heck of a target. Anyway, if you like the optimism of the Al character, you're probably intrigued with that mysterious lady (from midway through this season of TWD)....in the nice white suit, with the van and the twin bodyguards. I wonder how and when she will pop up again?
shareWe will learn more about Althea in the next few episodes. I think she previously worked in war zones and is good at telling the difference between people being defensive and people who have bad intentions. But that lockbox where she keeps the tapes is her weakness.
shareI dislike her and the cowboy buffoon. If these two are replacing Nick, I don't wish to watch.
