But somehow end up at the hotel after travis? its stupid stuff like this that happens way to much. Im not saying the walking dead is perfect. Its just surprises me how much worse FTWD is script and dialogue wise.

those guys were supposed to go to San Diego, and if they were driving, they likely would've seen Travis on the way to the hotel yet Travis made it to the hotel BEFORE them. Unless they show something happened to the guys on the way there otherwise it doesn't make sense and it's most certainly stupid.
Also Travis only went there because he saw the lit up hotel sign, for the 8 seconds it was turned on. The truck-kids would not have seen that...

Except that the truck was going north and Travis was going south. The truck could have broken down, been shot up, swarmed by zombies or run out of gas, and then the knucklehead crew would be humping it on foot back south to the resort.
shareYou act like they were in a race to get to the hotel when in actuality none of them knew about it. Who was in a car or on foot has no beRing on the conversation because the hotel wasn't Travis' or the boys' destination initially.
Maybe the guys in the truck realized that Travis was right and Cali was gone and high tailed it back into Mexico. Maybe they changed their minds. Maybe they got trapped by a hoard for a couple of days. Lots of reasons they could have arrived at the hotel after Travis.
Or the engine failed, it's an old truck after all.

And Travis was headed to the hotel on purpose because he saw the lights go on. He didn't just stumble there by accident.
