So many things wrong with how the characters are portayed; did I miss 1?

I just finished binge watching FTWD S 1&2, and I'm having issues with the writing all over the place. So I figured that as this is where the experts hang out, I'd table y concerns and see if its because I'm missing the point, or the writers are>

In no particular order-
In S1, the group sneaks out of the safe zone, but leaves the gates open, and the rest of the thousands of people unprotected to the undead that can now walk straight in.

Again, similar behaviour, when (its implied) that they let the undead out of the stadium, & lead them to the compound in order to use them as a distraction to rescue their own, knowing that likely all the people inside the compound would be killed.

And a third instance of this when they get into the compound through the fence, just the way from the undead, leaving a gapping hole in the fence.

Madison - she doesn't care who she hurts, or who gets killed, as long as her lying, stealing, drug-taking, son (of-a-b----) is protected.

Chris - so much so wrong about this kid- whiny, angst, no care or respect for his family members, incl step mother/sister etc. Motivations, behaviour all wrong, all over the place; can't shoot the boarders when they are coming on to the ship, but has no problem shooting one of them later (and lying about it) when he is tied up.

I reckon I could recount a much larger list, but being perhaps a little late to the party, perhaps there are others that are seeing this from a different perspective?

What do you think?

As Oyabun1 pointed out on another thread "Last week it was Madison the great leader declaring if you endanger others you gotta go before turning on all the lights and endangering others."

I'm still devastated they completely ignored that actual collapse of society. I don't know if there is a season 3, but I hope not. They have wasted a huge opportunity to show what was happening while Rick Grimes in the walking dead world was in a coma.

hence...

I anticipated this show as filling in the gaps between night of the living dead and dawn of the dead.

Aint happy

90% of people here don't actually pay attention to the show.

Doubt there were thousands in that fenced in area.

Again, similar behaviour, when (its implied) that they let the undead out of the stadium, & lead them to the compound in order to use them as a distraction to rescue their own, knowing that likely all the people inside the compound would be killed.
If all the armed soldiers were probably going to die, what chance would they and their family members inside have?

And a third instance of this when they get into the compound through the fence, just the way from the undead, leaving a gapping hole in the fence.
The military were *beep* anyway.

Madison - she doesn't care who she hurts, or who gets killed, as long as her lying, stealing, drug-taking, son (of-a-b----) is protected.
They kidnapped her son.

Chris - so much so wrong about this kid- whiny, angst, no care or respect for his family members, incl step mother/sister etc.
Chris does not have a stepmother or stepsister.

Motivations, behaviour all wrong, all over the place; can't shoot the boarders when they are coming on to the ship, but has no problem shooting one of them later (and lying about it) when he is tied up.
lol Seriously? You don't see the difference in the 2 situations?

Thank you for all that positive & insightful commentary into a set of serious questions about plot, characteristion and motivation of central character, as well as the typical show/forum audiences.
