In 2010, there was no I-phone 6 or 7. Another bad writing/mistake.
The story takes place in 2010, but the cell phone that Alicia used looks like one of the new I Phones released recently.
shareThe story takes place in 2010, but the cell phone that Alicia used looks like one of the new I Phones released recently.
shareI don't really just love this show myself, but to make a subject that says 'In 2010, there was no I-phone 6 or 7. Another bad writing/mistake' then turn right around and say 'It LOOKS like one' right after is just ignorant. You're essentially making a factual statement without any facts and then using it as a way to belittle something. Witch hunting a bit?
I am you and what I see is me.
It is a legitimate criticism. In 2010, there were no iphones made that size. It just goes to tell you how armature the team behind the show is.
share1. How do you know it was an iPhone?
2. How do you know what size it was?
Maybe she has small hands, making anything that she's holding look bigger.
I used to date women with small hands for just that reason.
Go watch that episode. The phone Alicia was using was obviously an I phone that was released in recent years.
shareAh, the old "it was obvious" argument. How could I not see that coming? You really got me there.
Go watch that episode
You are in denial. It is horrible show, and you are making excuses for it.
shareHahahaha. Yeah, because everyone knows that's what I do, make excuses for this show.
What does the overall quality of the show have to do with this discussion?
I asked a simple question. How do you know the phone was an iPhone?
It shouldn't be hard to answer.
It looks like an I phone, quit defending the horrible show already.

They've made this mistake in The Walking Dead multiple times. Stop blaming this show or saying its worse when/if they make the same mistake.
It's edited because I cant spell.
How was it a writing mistake as the title of the post claims?
NO, it was a mistake on the people handling the props, the line producer for not noticing, the actors for not saying something and for the director because he is supposed to be paying attention to what we are seeing. There are others that can shoulder the blame, but the last person you could pin it on is the writer.
I am sure that no where in the script did it say "Character uses an iPhone 6 or 7".
Now, there are other people that would belittle you for that mistake, but I won't. Just keep that in mind before you complain about someone else's work.
They are professional writers, they shouldn't have made that mistake.
shareI agree with you. I'm talking to the OP. If he's going to get upset about FTWD making a small error he should also be upset when TWD makes the same error. To me its not that big of a deal and the OP only believes it to be a iPhone 6 or 7. He has no proof and it is most likely not a 7 as their relatively new and apple wouldn't just give them one without featuring it more prominently.
It's edited because I cant spell.
But it is an troubling indicator of the quality of the show. Can you imagine seeing a Nokia phone in "Braveheart"??
shareThere's a huge difference in times. At this point iPhones are interchangeable and unrecognizeable by year. There all have subtle differences. I wouldn't be shocked if they opt for current iPhones because they old ones are slightly bigger and stand out more. Besides it science fiction, so their world may have had iPhone 10s in 1010.

Honestly though. Is it that big of a deal? Looking back 10-15 years from now will you be able to remember what year each iPhone was released? The only reason I know which iPhone I have is because the 7 just came out so mine must be a 6 plus. When people ask I just shrugged until the 7 became a thing. Ive had iPhones for a long time and just don't pay attention anymore.
An iPhone 10 in 1010 would make for a hell of a scene.
The only reason I know which iPhone I have is because the 7 just came out so mine must be a 6 plus.
Mines a plus because I wanted a bigger screen. Its much thinner then my older iPhones though. The older ones were a tad bit bigger and bulkier.
It's edited because I cant spell.
It is not cherry picking, it is just an indicator of a poorly produced TV show, that's all.
shareSo TWD must be even more poorly produced based on the errors and mistakes I sent you on the other thread?
It's edited because I cant spell.
It is even more poorly produced? Every film or TV show has bloopers, mistakes, but FWD has bad acting, bad action scenes, not scary zombies. Quit defending it.
shareThere's a couple of scenes in Braveheart that you get a glimpse of car or plane. Then there's the odd teeth for Scotland in the 13th century, ie large, uniform and very American white (which is several shades more nuclear than natural). They also had Wallace pushing 45 and Wallace shagging the princes wife. The iPhone *may* have been a few years advanced, but the kilts worn in Braveheart didn't exist for another 3 centuries and the use of woad hadn't been a thing in Scotland for many many centuries (think Boudicca kicking Romans in the 1st C) when the when the real Wallace was alive.
Braveheart is one of the least accurate films ever made. I can ignore decades of history classes and enjoy Braveheart though, I can't imagine how painful life must be for someone who can't ignore a 3 year old bit of technology used in a way that has zero impact on the plot. Sure there's a lot to criticise on this show but this is really nothing.
Shoe me the scenes where you see cars in Braveheart?
shareThey did use one in Braveheart. How else do you think Stephan was able to get in touch with the army from "his island" so quickly???
share[deleted]
Well, the script supervisor or the director could have corrected it. A mistake is a mistake, it is just one of the very troubling signs that shows how terrible and armature the filmmakers of this horrible show are.
shareWhere is that mistake??
shareHere's two lists. Feel free to read through all the mistakes. The iPhone is in there somewhere. I personally don't want to read through every mistake TWD has made.

Thanks for the link, but not as over the top as this mistake though
shareSo you are cherry picking because TWD is clearly more poorly produced with all these errors and mistakes.
It's edited because I cant spell.
TWD doesn't not have more mistakes and errors than Fear, you took it out of context by comparing "bloopers" to this one specific mistake without comparing Fear's general mistakes and bloopers. You lost, quit defending it.
shareHi there. FTWD is a TV show. Scripted TV/films like FTWD are meant to be an escape from reality, not to be a documentary on real life events. When you think you're smart for pointing out the obvious it just makes you look incredibly dumb for not knowing what you're watching. So you see a more modern phone than the characters should have? Who gives a $h!t, it's a TV show set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse for Christ's sake.
shareStop making excuses for this horrible show. You can say I am cherrypicking, a good filmmaker will try to reduce stupid mistakes like this which can be easily avoided. To say this film is an escape from reality is not an excuse for a badly produced and written TV show. "Who gives a s h i t"? Well, many do, I do, I want a high quality show, you have no taste obviously.
shareActually, I believe they showed Alicia's phone upclose in season 1, when she and her friend were watching some dead guy biting a paramedic on the news streaming using her cellphone and it was an iphone 4 or one of the older generations. I'm certain it was Alicia's phone because the teacher later went up to her and wanted to confiscate it because they were watching it in class.
shareOutbreak occurs October 2010 if memory serves, Alicia would have the iPhone 4.
She can't have an iPhone 4S or 5 or 5S or 6 or 6S or 7, as those all arrived in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 respectively.
All cell phones look alike anyway. #cellphoneracist

That's a lie.
shareI can see if this show took place in 1995 or 1999 or even 2004 what a glaring mistake that would be. But it's 2010, just six years ago. It's not that big of a deal.
You got the wrong guy, mang. I don't come off no banana boat.
In terms of quality of the show, it is a big deal.
shareDude, you're gettin' your Calvins all bunged up over a phone.
You got the wrong guy, mang. I don't come off no banana boat.
If a PHONE is such a big deal to the OP, the he should check if all their clothing, jewelry and hairstyles are all from 2010! maybe Alicia wears a pair of sneakers from 2012! WHAT A MISTAKE!!
God, I just hope, all the FOOD they were eating was from 2010!
Seeing Lord Baelish wearing a WATCH in Game of Thrones... THAT is a Mistake...
I know your answer will be ..."Stop defending a *beep* show".
