I'm sorry but there's NO WAY anyone could survive that car crash..

If what they said was true, there's no way those 2 idiots survived that crash while they were at the back of the truck sleeping 🐻

reply

Nope.

I think they are lying.

reply

They are lying.

reply

i agree. wouldn't believe a word they say

reply

Chris being the driver was probably more in harms way. The two idiots sleeping most likely got tossed before their bodies had a reaction to fully tense up. They definitely could've survived. I've seen videos of ridiculous car crashes of people getting tossed 20 feet from their windows with no serious injuries. Chris had nothing but impact.

"What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?"

reply

Possible they would survive but more likely, the tossed passengers get killed before a person inside of the truck dies. There's a reason that California passed a law (possibly nationwide law, I don't know) back in the late 80's I believe it was not allowing passengers to ride in the back of pick-ups without seat buckle restraints. It was due to the many, many people being killed that were tossed from trucks, particularly when they had experienced roll over accidents, many times at high speeds on our freeways here in California. More times than not, the passengers inside the cab survived said same accidents unscathed if they were buckled up.

reply

Cases where people live in crashes like that are the minuscule exception to the rule.

Basically, if you're in the back of a pick-up truck (or in the cabin without a seat belt, for that matter), and the truck crashes and rolls over, you are gonna get ejected and die.

We're just not evolved to handle impacts from crashes at those speeds, with that kind of inertia and weight involved.

reply

the key factor here though was they were asleep when it happened, and as someone else said the human body can survive some *beep* crashes if your mind doesnt tense your body! but ya 70% chance of them having died!

reply

If the truck is going fast enough to eject the driver and roll over six times, then unfortunately anyone sleeping in the bed is dead anyway.

Besides the fact that reflexes are instantaneous, there's really no indication that not being tense will increase survivability. We're talking about getting launched from the flat surface of a 5,000-pound + vehicle, like a catapult, with no restraints and only hard surfaces to land on.

Whether or not muscles are tensed has no bearing on the speed the body gets ejected, the force with which it hits an object (a tree, a guard rail, the pavement, an embankment) and the resistance of the object hit.

TV and movies make it look like people survive crashes like that, but the reality is that the vast majority of people die and it's much, much more disgusting and terrifying IRL than it is in the abstract. People go through windshields, side windows and even sunroofs all the time when they're not wearing seatbelts, which is why road safety PSAs are always going on about how important seat belts are.

reply

The body tensing up does cause more harm. Thats why when you hear a drunk driver crashed into another car and everyone dies except for the drunk driver. Cause his body is loose.

Plus I used to be a pro wrestler and you are taught to stay loose. If you tighten up then the moves hurt a whole lot more. Being loose does help prevent injury.

Plus those 2 guys were in the bed of the truck. First flip they fall out. Not from a big height. Couple bumps and bruises and one guy dislocated his shoulder. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

reply

I know someone that almost went through a windshield. she wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was in the launch position on the passenger side when she went flying forward. she cracked the windshield with her head.

Agreed.

You say Cam was driving. We are not talking about the driver. The two guys in the back of the pickup no way would have survived.

Which made me think, right off the bat those guys were lying...but they showed the video of them killing Chris...and what actually happened.

I could see what happened to Chris happening to his legs and him surviving, but the other two would have died for sure.

...............ZING!

People are thrown from vehicles in crashes all the time and survive, why are you so emphatic that the guys in the back couldn't be thrown and survive?

Heck, even small children who have weak bones that aren't even finished developing yet survive these kind of crashes.

Go to Google and type this in the search bar: "child thrown from car crash survive" you will see it's VERY possible for people to survive that crash.

Was he really going that fast? I mean from what we saw, Chris, could have survived as well. He just broke his leg probably because he hit the steering wheel. All three would have survived. They probably fell out of the truck on the first flip.

I think on Talking Dead they said the stunt driver was goin 50mph. I may be wrong.

Maybe. He may have also bled to death if they hadn't killed him. The bone was sticking out of his leg.
