Relationship Between Hotel People

I was never quite sure who was who in the hotel and now I'm confused about why everyone was so upset when the guy whose skull was bashed in died. So, Andreas the doctor is an American and was the groom in the wedding? Elena and Hector are Mexican brother and sister who worked at the hotel. How was Oscar the dead guy related to these people, why was everyone else soooo upset at his death, and why was Hector so close to Andreas when Andreas and his mother-in-law were basically keeping them out of the rest of the hotel before Madison's group arrived? Wasn't Elena and Hector's brother still with the Narcos? Can someone please explain these characters' relationships to me?

Oscar was the groom and the med school dropout (Andreas?) was his brother.

Ohhh, OK. That makes sense, although it still doesn't explain why Hector was so worked up.

It makes no sense T all because andres and Oscar held hector hostage for a while and now all of a sudden they were like best friends.
