I either missed some episodes or some things went over my head. Can anyone(who won't take offense to my being behind)fill me in on these facts?:
- Why did Nick leave off by himself and who are all these people he's been encountering? I haven't been understanding his story line.
-What happened to Daniel Salazar(Reuben Blades' character)--and his daughter?
-Why is Victor still with the group? Wasn't he originally just a guy who owned the boat they took refuge on temporarily?
-What was the setup at the hotel that Madison and Alicia had with those people they just violently left from?
(All theses questions are from before Oct 2nd's episode)
*Also a rhetorical question--why did they kill off Travis' only son (as well as Travis' ex-wife)while Madison's kids stay safe?--No more respect than that for an original character?--and in a flashback no less.

Remember Celia, the evil lady who ran the Abigail household that the group was staying at late in Season 2A? Nick bought into her BS about the walkers not really being dead and he was taking Celia's side over Madison. When he realized that Madison killed Celia, he believed Celia was right that the group brings death everywhere they go, so he went off by himself.

Victor likes Madison and has gotten close to her and trusts her leadership abilities.

Madison kind of took charge of the hotel after she led the way of ridding it of all the walkers. They all decided to make a community there, with the rules that no one could take a hand to another. Travis' actions messed all that up.

It seems like it's a popularity thing. For some reason, both Nick and Alicia are much more popular than Chris. From a character actions standpoint, I get it, but I'm not fond of Nick's character at all. He's painfully overrated and poorly acted. And Alicia is really underwhelming as a character to me, loved for her looks and not much else. Chris is the most hated character on the show and fans (myself NOT included) have been clamoring for his death. I think the writers thought the flashback way of revealing his death would be more powerful, especially given that they interspersed it with Travis avenging it by killing those guys that killed him. reply share
VERY helpful answer! Especially the last point. Re Chris's death. I watch online and must have missed a good 10 minutes of last weeks episode so never saw anything at all relating to Chris getting killed! I will have to re-watch to see if it is orking all the way to the end of that episode now!

They film this stuff months before it airs you know, and they plan it out even further ahead than that. Most of the Chris hate came in this second half of season 2, in the first half everyone was hating Alicia.

- Why did Nick leave off by himself and who are all these people he's been encountering? I haven't been understanding his story line.
Because Nick is an idiot, except when it comes to learning a foreign language in minutes... then he's a savant.
-What happened to Daniel Salazar(Reuben Blades' character)--and his daughter?
Salazar is an idiot who no longer cared about staying alive to keep his daughter safe so he burned himself up in a fire he totally had time to escape from. His daughter apparently inherited the idiot gene because she ran off by herself to find some old boyfriend she hasn't even though of in 2 seasons... but now it's mission critical to her. She got her idiot self captured by some low life that I can only assume wants to use her as a sex slave.
-Why is Victor still with the group? Wasn't he originally just a guy who owned the boat they took refuge on temporarily?
Victor started out smart but apparently the group idiot factor has rubbed off on him so he decided to not go with the only group of people he knows who have the survival skills and will have his back. Apparently strangers are a better option to him now.
-What was the setup at the hotel that Madison and Alicia had with those people they just violently left from?
A bunch of idiots holed up rooms while the zombies roamed the halls. Madison and Alicia help unite the feuding people at the hotel and rid the hotel of zombies and fortify it for safety.
Basically it's been an entire season of people who SHOULD be intelligent, making one stupid decision after another.
