Travis
Will never be the same. A shame the series will lose its humanity too. I like moral compass Travis.

shareYea the thought that crossed me when he, Maddy and Alicia were driving together was what they had in common: all 3 of them had killed a human at that point.
I think crazy Travis is way more entertaining than the soulful responsible Travis. Just like Rick on TWD got more fun when he went completely off. This IS humanity. Humanity has many sides. It's human to snap like that in a crazy world. The so-called voice of reason is what comes across as forced. In a world like this, even Oprah would stab a b!tch.
To be honest, I get sick of the tired "social responsibility" trope in zombie apocalypse stories these days. It dilutes the intensity of suddenly being in a world were the old rules don't apply. It also lead to smarmy ethics speeches that real life people in wartime or desperate situations don't waste time on. Real peole "get it" and keep moving. Why can't modern horror shows?
It's a zombie apocalypse. It's not M*A*S*H. Hawkeye doesn't belong in this world.
All true, however, it's not like Travis was peaceful one day, then a cold-blooded killer the next. It was a natural character progression, frankly the best progression any character has had on the series. They never showed him being a badass for the sole reason of looking cool or to suit the story or to get a rise out of the viewer, like they have for OTHER characters on the show. It makes sense for Travis to be where he is. No overexposure of the character or trying to force-feed him on the viewer.
shareI didn't say he was a bad ass or had to be a bad ass. I don't mind the transitions and I like them, too. I enjoy the changes and breakdowns. You misunderstood my post and me.
People in this thread were talking about the loss of humanity, I see it as the other side of a character's humanity. He and his whole family are adapting to this world in a trial by fire. This change is what keeps the characters from being one note. The fun is seeing the other side of the formerly peaceful characters. This is where they become more truthful to themselves and each other. You seem to assume I was only talking about the violence. I wasn't.
My point is, I don't mourn the loss of humanity of a character when they are simply changing as a human being would change in a world like this. He isn't staying the same, just like Rick didn't stay the same, and he should stay the same cool calm, and insightful, compassionate people when the world is no longer that.
When they were in their "humane" frame of mind there were too many speeches that were repetitive and unrealistic to how real human beings act in terror mode. That's all I'm saying.
It's not M*A*S*H. Hawkeye doesn't belong in this world.

He'd be dead real fast in this world.
He would probably be despised more than Chris was, too.
Don't f@ck with me fellas! This aint my first time at the rodeo.
