shareIt was too late. They already told Madison the 16-year old driver from LA who didn't have a license didn't make it. Madison knew it was Chris who was dead and she was right there in the room when they had to tell Travis what happened to him. If they told him he was alive, Madison would have had to refute their story.

shareOk, let's say that they retract their story and say that they're not sure that Chris is dead. This is after they seemed pretty sure he was dead when they told Madison. Travis would insist they take him to where they left Chris' body. Chris is shot in the head and Travis sees his leg punctured from the accident. Travis puts 2 and 2 together and realizes that Brandon and Derek killed Chris the same way they killed James. Brandon and Derek are still dead. They had no choice but to say that Chris is dead and figure out a way for Travis to buy it, which he almost did if not for Derek's slip up.
