Confused about character relationship

So, this show has No characters of interest hence me not knowing names. But the lady that worked at the hotel and her son with the pony tail--they have NO connection to the wedding party people. They locked them in to die, etc. but why in the last two episodes was pony tail guy SO offended and filled with sorrow over the groom's death?? He was crying and everything...wanted to kill Travis. They've been together as a "group" a couple weeks at most...this pissed me off and confused the hell out of me.

Not sure why he was affected by Oscar's death so much. Yes, a little unusual he was bonded to Oscar only after spending a week or two with him. He probably didn't cry the first time during the wedding reception because he was too terrified to feel sadness. I guess he's just an emotional person. The guy seems to act on impulses whether they be to retrieve cars, lock people up, or beat up Travis. Maybe Strand will take advantage of that weakness.

Good question. While watching it, I just assumed it was the brother or brother in-law, but now that you mention it, it does seem odd that the group who worked at the hotel would be that upset by the grooms death. Weren't they all trying to kill each other before Strand and Madison got there?

It was also odd that Travis or Madison showed no remorse at all for Travis accidentally killing the groom.

Yeah, on the topic of empathy and apathy, Madison and Travis seem to only care about their family and disregard others in protecting their family no matter how destructive the means are. Same with Alicia stabbing Oscar's brother. I bet we're watching a crime family/villains in the making.

Madison and Travis, sure. Not sure about Alicia, she was shocked about what she did, even if it was an instinctive move to protect Travis. Alicia may have the protective instinct of her mother, but she is quite different. She'll be more pragmatist. She understood that Travis had to go and made that clear to Madison. But just look at the way the writers are adding a few hints : by the end, when Madison and Travis were body-searching the corpses, Alicia was behind, observing them blinded by their goal, forgetting about anything else; then Alicia called Madison who pointed her torch in her direction and saying "what're you doing" ?
Same with them barging in the Colonia while Alicia saw Alejandro wounded in the bus.
Unlike Madison & Travis embracing their side of it, this won't be the same for Alicia, she's different.

yes, they just did it to move on with the story fast.
