Which "SEASON 2" do you yourself think was Better ?
Season 2 of "FEAR THE WALKING DEAD" or Season 2 of "THE WALKING DEAD" ?

It's a toss up. I liked the conflict between Rick and Shane, but I also liked the yacht, the power pills, Celia's madness and Alicia's development.

Yes, the Catalina Island episode (power pills episode) is a good one. Like a solid short story. Didn't have much to do with the overall plot of the season just like the Los Vatos episode in TWD didn't have much to do with the rest of that season.

TWD. I could not wait for the next season. Fear isn't even something to look forward to.

While I enjoy both shows for their differences in music, setting, and costumes, season two of TWD is very high in drama with Carol's daughter in the barn, the twelve angry men scene, and Jon Bernthal's consistently high-energy performance as Shane. To me, season two of Fear has some problems with pace. Season one of Fear is a slow burn, but then the first half of season two speeds up to a pace that makes some of the character development of Chris and Nick implausible. Chris all of a sudden turns on his Alicia and Madison (even though he just had the hots for Alicia). Nick, after the Mexican church massacre, is tired of all the killing and wants to be peaceful even though the Apocalypse just began and not that many people have died at his hands.

TWD's S2, from what I recall, is restrained (which builds tension), has great performances from most the actors, and isn't rushed.

Fear's S2 seems inferior only because in its second half, compelling stories emerge, the actors have fallen into their roles, and the pacing is better. The show finds its groove in the second half of S2.

Most of TWD S2 is good whereas second half of Fear S2 is excellent.

FTWD
(Season 2 of TWD was lame, boring)

anyone else ?

I've actually seen very little of TWD season two, so I can't really compare them.

reply

At the time, I really found TWD season 2 bad, slow and boring. At some point I even stopped the show. Now I have to admit it was at least well-written, even if they milked the story just too much.

FTWD season 2 is just a mess in comparison. More action yes, but now I can see I prefer better writing to no writing at all. I do admit the last 3-4 episodes were better though (after the gangster got killed inexplicably on the highway).

So TWD for the whole season but FTWD for the last 3-4 episodes.
