How could Derrick and Brandon not have died being thrown for a truck?

If the pickup truck that the two douche-bags were traveling in actually rolled and turned over as much as they said it did and if Brandon and Derrick were just laying in the bed and not strapped in or anything I can't believe they wouldn't have been tossed out at whatever speed they were going (probably faster than 60 miles an hour) and then landed on the pavement or the hard ground and the only injuries either of them suffered was a dislocated shoulder? WHAT?

reply

Agreed, not probable they would have lived, but in tv, you only need it to be possible :)

reply

They were both asleep...therefore their bodies were relaxed. That is why you see a lot of drunk drivers that come out of crashes hardly injured and others involved die.

Don't bother sweating over your bills, in the end we all wind up in the hole!

reply

Even so, the impact of the initial collision plus the subsequent rolls looked violent enough to have done serious bodily harm to two people who were not strapped in at all and were just completely exposed. It beggars belief that neither suffered any serious injury (save for a dislocated shoulder) on impact with the ground or other objects upon being hurled from the spinning truck.

reply

It is possible to survive. My brother was thrown from the back of a pickup after the front tire shot off. So it just depends, he did break his arm/shoulder and left leg though.

reply

It would be safer being in the back than in the cabin during the crash.

reply

That is myth:

MYTH: I'd rather be thrown clear in a crash.

FACT: Being thrown safely clear in a crash is almost impossible. When you're thrown, you may be thrown through the windshield, scraped along the pavement, or even crushed by your own vehicle or another one. The idea of being thrown from a car and gently landing in a grassy area beside the road is pure fantasy. Your best bet in a crash is to stay inside the vehicle, securely held by your seat belt.

The truck was going about fifty. I have seen motorcyclist skid along the ground and not be seriously hurt. But in an accident like that where the truck immediately tumbled, it is not likely.

reply

Speaking of bags, can anyone explain why the air bags didn't deploy? Was idiotboy Chris wearing a seatbelt?

reply

Because they lied.

Chris did not die.

reply

It appeared they were unreliable narrators and the flash back appears to be forced.
